Getting Over Spiritual Narcissism

Jan 20, 2012

Saying For Today: So, at some point, you'll likely not claim to be either religious or spiritual, for you'll no longer need to. It's a good day when you realize you're no longer religious or spiritual, and you feel okay with that.

Living in Love beyond Beliefs

Reeling Drunken - Arem .

Yes...
I confess...
I belong to nothing and
I'm awake in the wee hours,
while others sleep ... Loving and

Yes...
I confess...
I lost my religion and
I have few friends and

Yes...
I confess...
I have little sense of direction and
I live confused and

Yes...
I confess... gladly and
I stay intoxicated
have for many years and

Lost inside this Loving...
reeling drunken by the Beloved and
somewhat different than most persons,
but I don't care for

this Wine has taken
my life away... so, don't
ask me to act like those
who live among the sober and sane

I confess...
gladly... yes,
so gladly...
with no intent to repent,
I'm guilty of all this

I think if you would meet most highly evolved beings, you would find they relate deeply on a one-to-one basis with few, one, or maybe no one. I mean, the more you evolve, the fewer persons you can relate to at that consciousness from which you see everything. You can love them all, but who do you deeply share with? How does one in transpersonal consciousness share deeply with someone in personal consciousness? for example. And most persons in religion and spirituality, as persons in general, or still in personal consciousness, for that is where our species has evolved to, and we have not evolved out of that as a species. See, when two persons, one in personal and one in transpersonal meet, it's like being from two different planets. So, I think part of the price for evolution into post-rational, transpersonal consciousness, with transpersonal Love, is you'll discover you're mostly alone, even if you're surrounded by many persons, and even among many who talk much about spirituality and love. So, to have peace about that, you just accept it's a natural consequence of dedication to living beyond where most persons are ready to live. This may sound arrogant, but it just is. And, when you see the world differently, as a more evolved being, you're not being prideful to see that. See it and accept the consequences is my recommendation. And know few persons are going to understand you, or even try to understand you, and many will avoid you, if you try to share what you see with them. So, accept that. When you do that, an amazing peace about your aloneness will arise, and you'll feel honored to feel and be alone for what you know that sets you apart from others.

We often hear now, something like this: "All religions are just different paths to the same goal, and we need to respect them all." But... No - they are not, and I do not need to respect them all, or any that contradict the universal Love I know is best for us all, not some of us, not a specially "chosen" group. Take for example - at the risk of my over-simplifying-, the way and goal of Orthodox Judaism, Islam, Eastern Orthodox Christianity, Catholic Christianity, Pure Land Buddhism, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Morminism - not any two among these share a shared way or vision of where that will end for all. And Islam and Christianity and Judaism have a "god" they see to be "their" God. Yes, there are exceptions to what I'm saying, for some in these faiths see the Oneness we all share, through the differences in the forms of the faiths, but those persons are in the small, very small, minority. But, really, spirituality is not the answer either. Spirituality, as a term, basically means nothing, for it is applied to so many diverse teachings, many contradictory, and is over-worn and trite. The answer is before and beyond religion and spirituality, indeed all ideology. At some point, we need to stop referring to either of those two amorphous terms. So, at some point, you'll likely not claim to be either religious or spiritual, for you'll no longer need to. It's a good day when you realize you're no longer religious or spiritual, and you feel okay with that. ♥
